POSITION: OFFICER, DATA CENTRE OPERATIONS

DEPARTMENT: TECHNOLOGY – IT OPERATIONS/IT INFRASTRUCTURE

BAND:  O1

JOB PURPOSE: This role is responsible for providing technical support and monitoring the Bank’s Data Centre to ensure operational efficiency.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitors the bank’s Data Centre performance and its environment for optimal availability.
• Resolves/escalates incidents related to the Data Centre including hardware failures and software issues.
• Promptly responds to Data Centre alerts and escalates to service owners for investigation.
• Assists in routine maintenance activities such as backups, patching, and upgrades to ensure optimal performance.
• Runs Close of Business activities and ensures successful completion.
• Documents and hands over activities to next shift to ensure smooth transition.
• Provides report on the key performance indicators of the Data Centre including uptime, response times, and other key metrics.

QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Computer Science.
• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar role.
• Certification in Data Centre Administration, Systems Administration and/or IT Service Management.
• Certification in Cloud Computing Technologies (AWS, Azure, Google) especially relating to infrastructure administration.
